Extractions
It is important to follow the instructions given to you by your dentist at the time of extraction. Remember on the day of extraction to take it easy and do nothing to disturb the area. It is not uncommon to have some bleeding at the site, use the bite packs given to you at the time of extractions to apply pressure to the area. Do not drink any alcohol or smoke for the first 24 hours after having a tooth removed. For pain relief, provided you have no contraindications, we recommend over the counter pain relief such as Paracetamol or Ibuprofen.
The following day use a warm salt mouthwash to gently bathe the area, remember do not swill it hard as we do not want to disturb the healing, it is to keep the area clean and wash away food debris.
If you have any concerns please contact the practice.
